ashleigh + alan {married}

The weather just wasn't cooperating. It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding. But it was raining. And it was cold. I arrived at The Tribune Golf Resort hoping to help cheer up a disappointed bride. But Ashleigh needed no cheering up whatsoever; she was calm, happy, and totally excited to be getting married! Despite the rain and cold, the warm mood was unmistakable as Ashleigh and her closest friends leisurely got ready for her big day, all the while trading stories and laughs.

You see, I don't think anything could have dampened Ashleigh's spirits. She and Alan had been waiting a long time for this day. Some scary situations had threatened that this day would ever come. Alan spent months overseas fighting for our country this year, and in combat, was injured by a roadside bomb. In the midst of the terrible situation, Ashleigh traveled to be by Alan's side when he needed her the most.

These two really know the meaning of love. I mean really, really. The world is a better place because of them. I know they will go on to bless and inspire many others throughout their lives.

{below} Fun fact: The Tribune was modeled after famous golf courses in Scotland and all over Europe. So how appropriate was it that the weather was overcast and a bit foggy? Hello authentic!

{below} Ashleigh, you are so beautiful!

That's a pretty amazing Plan B if you ask me. ;)

{below} At one point, the minister asked everyone to stand and honor Alan and his service to our country. It was such a powerful and moving sight.

Ashleigh and Alan, thank you so much for having me to photograph your wedding. I hope you are thrilled with the result. I want you both to know how honored I was to be there, and how incredibly happy I was to see you married at last. You have been in my prayers throughout this year, and it was a joy to be present at your wedding celebration. Ashleigh, you are an awesome bride in my book for not letting the weather get you down--the wedding was so beautiful! Alan, I'm so thankful for your service to our country and I am so glad you are safe. I wish you both nothing but the best. You two are gems.
