alicia & chris {wedding} dallas, tx

Lilly and I wove through the streets of downtown dallas, headed for Chris and Alicia's wedding spot. I'd heard descriptions of the location; a few phrases that stuck out were restored loft, reclaimed brick building, and old power company, so I knew we were in for something good. Sure enough, rounding a corner, situated between old industrial buildings, sat the little gem known as "Off The Grid." And that pretty much described the wedding day!

We were greeted by a sweet chalkboard, proclaiming that this was the day! Upon entering, we indeed saw the three story goodness that had been described. Alicia was contentedly walking around in a navy maxi dress, hair done and looking gorgeous, giving last minute instructions on table settings. I was immediately swept up in the details that had been so carefully chosen. Alicia and Chris know how to put a wedding together! But one thing I loved was that, while they were super invested in their details, they didn't give time to any detail that wasn't personally important to them...aka they didn't just do things for the sake of tradition. This awesome approach made the day so personal! For example, Alicia wore this eye-catching flower hair piece that was flown in from Israel, but she didn't want to carry a bouquet. The flower hair piece was so Alicia.

After the sweet ceremony, performed by Alicia's dad, we got to climb some very steep stairs to take photos on the roof of the building. And hello Dallas skyline! :) The reception was so fun, and the whole room got the giggles when the toasts began. My goodness, they were the funniest, wittiest, and cleverest toasts I've ever heard! I mean, how do people get that witty? I'm jealous. :)

Enjoy the photos!

Alicia & Chris I just love you guys! I've loved getting to know you, and I really loved how "you" your wedding was. Such a great approach to a wedding. I hope you guys love your photos as much as I do. Thank you again for having me to photograph your wedding. I wish you all the best. Keep in touch! Love, Caroline

megan & jordan {married} allen, tx

The morning sunshine was fresh and lovely as I rolled down my car window and held my breath. Little excitement bubbles began to build in the "photographer" part of my mind. Slowly, I rolled up the driveway of Megan and Jordan's ceremony site, taking in all the gorgeous details that were already being carefully set up. A gathering of sunflowers here, a row of mason jar lanterns there, strands of lights looped through the tree branches. Even the weather was just perfect (and in Texas, well, that doesn't usually happen).

I'd arrived a little before everyone, so I was contentedly snapping detail shots (definitely one of my favorite things to photograph at any wedding) when Megan arrived, hair swept up, make up bag in hand, and glowing. Throughout the day I was so touched by her down-to-earth, calm attitude, spirit of gratitude, and apparent love for all her friends and family...not to mention for Jordan! Their first sight was emotional with happy tears on Megan's side and wild smiles on Jordan's.  What was even sweeter to me was that as the ceremony began, and Megan came down the aisle, Jordan's smile was just as wide, and Megan's tears were just as joyful as they had been when they'd seen each other once before.

Megan and Jordan, it was so fun for me to capture all the little details and special things that you poured your hearts and thoughts into. Your family and friends were a delight to work with, and seeing how much you value them was inspiring. I believe that you two complement each other in the best ways, and I can just see you two being a steady and grounded couple, who spur on other couples. I was so happy to be your wedding photographer and I hope you love and enjoy your photos! Much love, Caroline.

megan {bridals} plano, tx

Yay! I always LOVE posting bridal sessions. It's so hard to know that after I finish a bridal session, it may be MONTHS before anyone can see it. When the wedding day is over, the very first thing I do is blog the bridal session. How exciting it is to finally bring these photos to the light! :)

Megan and Jordan tied the knot today, so I get to show you Megan's bridal session! Talk about GORGEOUS! Wowza. Her hair, dress, eyes, flowers, smile, shoes, grace...I could go on. Super beauty! But I'll stop talking now and let you just see for yourself. :)

Meet the most beautiful couple ever. And when I say beautiful, I mean inside and out. Wowza! I can't wait to share their entire session with you, and I especially can't wait to tell you what I learned about life from these amazing people. For now, let this happy, sun soaked photo tide you over. :)
