taryn + chas {married}

 2009 saved the best for last! I dont' think I've ever enjoyed myself at a wedding more than I did at Taryn and Chas' wedding. It was an absolute blast for one simple reason: Taryn, Chas, and their friends & family know how to relax and have a good time. I'm always slightly saddened when I see stressed out brides and families...but my last wedding of '09 was total bliss--for everyone!

Taryn and I had done lots of talking before the wedding, but I didn't get to meet her until the day of the wedding. I knew that I'd love her style the moment I was greeted by these wreaths on The Legacy doors. (Excellent venue by the way! Lubbock brides, check out The Legacy.)

{below} Don't you love the flying birds? :)

{below} Prepare yourself, Taryn is SUPER gorgeous! She has this vintage-hollywood style that's just lovely.

{below} I have to give some serious appreciation to these bridesmaids! You girls were the most supportive and FUN bridesmaids I've ever seen! I want friends just like you! :)

{below} Bro-love, anyone? I tried to coin that phrase while describing poses to the groomsmen.

{below} A favorite from the day. Pure romance. And actually, just know that the next three photos are all favs of the day.

{below} I told you they knew how to have a good time!

Taryn and Chas, your wedding was such a refreshing change of pace...and I loved every minute of it! Literally. Scott had to force me to stop photographing for a few minutes during the reception to eat...usually it's a welcome break, but I was just having too much fun to stop even for a minute. :) You two were wonderful to work with, and I mean that in every sense of the word. WONDERFUL! I hope you love your photos. It was a privilege being your photographer. Happy Marriage!

Your photos never cease to amaze me. With most pros, I see their photos and think I could probably duplicate it if I tried and had the same equipment, assistants, etc. Not that I would necessarily have thought to do it that way, but I would be capable of duplicating it, at least. "Ah, I see what you did there..."

But with you, I have no idea how you manage to produce the photos you do - they have a unique quality that I simply don't know how to duplicate. Not that I need to *duplicate* it, but I see your photos, and I look at my photos - and they seem to be utterly and completely different. Not just a different level of skill or equipment, but a different timbre altogether. Although I'm not sure how to define it in this case, I think your photos feel very feminine to me. Not in the negative, stereotypical sense of pink superficial-ness, but intensely feminine, nonetheless. Maybe if I shaved my beard and put on a dress I'd have better luck copying you... but I think I'd be better off just trying to figure out how to shoot like me. ;)

What I'm trying to say is that I like your art. The end. :)

So, of course I have favoritism towards this group of photos because Chas is my big bro, and the way you captured his and Taryn's big day brings a bigbig smile to my face. But I decided to scroll down and see some more of your blog entries and lets just say I went through all 15 pages of this thing without even realizing! Your photography is beautiful and inspiring and I couldn't help but stop and tell you :) When I get married **way later on** I hope you don't mind being there because your style is my FAVORITE! I'll probably keep coming back to your blog just to see more of your work, it truly is art!

Wow! What a crazy, small world! Chas & I are actually related...and a TON of my family was there...did you recognize any of them? :) Unfortunately, Bucky & I couldn't make it...but, I just thought it was so cool that you were their photographer! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL & your photos are amazing!!
